Prior to 1901, Australia consisted of 6 individual British colonies. copyright usage wasn't typical, and when needed British or other national passports have been applied. While in the 19th century, paroled convicts were issued a style of inside copyright termed "ticket of depart", which enabled them to maneuver freely in between the colonies.[10]
